Life is not a single path for all people. Often, we learn to the respond to God’s call to us to share life with him later in life. While we may have been baptized as an infant, our families didn’t invite us to receive The Eucharist or the Sacrament of Confirmation at the usual times. Perhaps we might have even had a civil marriage or marriage in another Christian Church. But, there is a path to receiving all these sacraments validly within your parish community.
Reconciliation / Penance / Confession
At any time, a baptized Catholic may receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation. Please set up an appointment with a priest for your first time, or arrive early on one of the weekly scheduled times across the cluster. Learn more about the Sacrament of Reconciliation.
Eucharist
While there is some preparation involved, it is possible to receive the Eucharist within a few weeks after beginning preparation. In the Sacraments, the full graces are received if we have full knowledge of what we are doing. However, because the Eucharist is the Body, Blood, Soul, and Divinity of our Lord Jesus Christ, we all must be mindful not to receive our Lord unworthily. Confirmation
With the Sacrament of Confirmation comes the completion of our sacraments of initiation into the faith. The process of preparation is similar to that for The Eucharist and usually both are received within the same Mass. Learn more about the Sacrament of Confirmation.
Holy Matrimony
Different than the Sacraments of Initiation, Holy Matrimony involves a different process of preparation very personal and particular to a specific bridegroom and bride. It is fairly common for a marriage to have taken place outside of the Church for various reasons and influences from the secular world. Preparation for marriage takes place over at least 6 months, with a priest or deacon. The Church wants us to be able to make this commitment to each other in full freedom, being able to give your consent without reservations or concerns. Schedule a visit with a priest.
